We send our deepest condolences to Kathy and her family. We remember Carlos fondly and still smile when we recall his inimitable humor. He could always make us laugh. He was one of a kind, for sure.  His presence will be missed. 

My condolences to the Perkins Family.  Friend and co-worker to Kathy Perkins.  She has since retired from ATF but Kathy left a lasting impact.  I remember Carlos attending the holiday functions and would stop by the office from time to time.  Very nice man who loved his family dearly.  God Bless him!

C.H. and Kathy were Godsends to me when I got hired to work in D.C. They welcomed me into their hearts and home and carpool for the entire three and a a half years I worked in D.C. They didn't really know me at the time and it is rare to run across such generosity. I am grateful for their being so welcoming to me and to my son and granddaughter when they visited me in Virginia.  C.H. was a strong believer in family. I remember his calling his siblings and singing happy birthday to them on their birthdays. Derrick, Zandy and I are grateful for the calenders and gift cards he and Kathy sent every year after meeting us. Thank you both. We love y'all.  C.H. will be sorely missed. God bless him and Kathy.

When dad retired, he told rylee that he retired so that he could pester her.

A few years later, mom and dad drop me and rylee off because driving is not an option for me...

Pappa gets lots of rylee time, and i start a chain of texts that leads to this

"Karate kid" ... "preacher man" ... "the boy" is what he called me. I called him "Uncle CH." He was my daddy's brother, and much like him, he was rough around the edges but had a tender heart. He'd give you grief, forever. He and my aunt once showed up from out of town, knocking on the door in the middle of the night when I was a teenager. I thought my parents were getting the door so I faded back to sleep. They never did ... in turn leaving my aunt and uncle to head somewhere else for the night. 25 years later, i long since gave up trying to explain, but still never heard the end of it from him! Ha! He was a giver. I fondly remember the annual Christmas gift of a calendar and gift cards to our family when I was a kid. As an adult, when my own family grew, there they were in the mailbox again come Christmas time. He was family. Love ya Uncle CH.

I remember him taking me and Jessica  to Walmart really late one night while we were having a sleepover when we were teenagers.  He got us a bunch of soda and we made a Surge tower out of the cans that night. He always called me Fantasia or Anaesthesia. It was funny.

Remember helping put the pond in the front yard, and being an Eagles fan. Never did ask why just appriciated it.  Mr. Perkins always had a kind heart. I have many memories that bring a smile to my face forever.

Survivors include his loving wife, Kathleen Perkins; one son, Christopher Perkins and his wife Michelle Perkins; one daughter, Jessica Sullivan; one granddaughter, Rylee Perkins; three brothers, Emory Perkins, Bennie Perkins, Sonny Gay; two sisters, Beverly Stoup, Jane Hite and a large number of nieces and nephews.
