Mr. Newton is survived by his wife of 60 years Ruth Newton, daughter-n-law
Kathy Newton, step grandchildren Shane Nelson, Jessica Sherfield, four great grandchildren Connie Groover, Jase Nelson, Monica Sherfield, and Aaron Sherfield.
Bernard served in the United States Army during the Korean conflict. He retired from Purvis Ford where he did diagnostics and state inspections. Bernard was a proud member of the Pattawomeck Indian tribe of VA.
Bernard is predeceased by his father Mack Newton, mother Becky Newton, a son Charles B. Newton Jr. and a granddaughter Tensley A. Newton.
He is also survived by numerous Uncles, Aunts, nephews and nieces. The family will receive friends on Friday, October 30, 2015 from 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm and Saturday, October 31, 2015 from 12:00 pm – 12:45 pm. A Graveside Service will be held at Sunset Memorial Park, Fredericksburg, Virginia on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 1:00 pm. Pastor Gary Limberick from Bethal Baptist Church will be officiating the service.
