Clarence Edmund Woodard, 85 of Fredericksburg went to be with his heavenly Father on Monday, November 7, 2016 at Mary Washington Hospital. He was a retired Gunnery Sergeant of the United States Marine Corps, with over 20 years of service. During that time, he received the Purple Heart while in Vietnam and enjoyed his time at HMX-1.
He also retired from Dominion Power and Stafford County Public Schools. He was a member of Kings Highway Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon and on the Finance Committee.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Ruth; daughter Donna W. Serabian; two sons, Robert D. Woodard and Gregory C. Woodard; brother, John Woodard; and six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, November 11, 2016 at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service at 12:00 pm, with the family receiving friends an hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
