Born in Washington D.C. to Angelo and Norena Danzi, Dan spent his youth as a rolling stone, gathering no moss. Moving frequently, he never failed to find mischief or adventure, and loved spending summers in New York with his Aunt Minnie. He graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute with a degree in Electrical Engineering and spent his career in service of the federal government.
He met the love of his life, Patricia Marie Powell, in 1973 and wed a year later. His greatest joy was his family, but his greatest gift was his ability to make others laugh. He had a love for puzzles and magic that he shared with everyone he met, a passion for exploring the world, and a gusto for great food. He always captivated others with his tales of misadventure. He loved movies (always paired with popcorn), enjoyed canoeing, and was the most generous man you could hope to meet. He was loved by all who knew him.
Dan is survived by his wife, Patricia Danzi; his children, Matthew Danzi (Susan Smith), Sarah Danzi, Michael Danzi (Danielle); his grandchildren, Owen, Emmett; and his beloved dog, Ally.
A graveside funeral will be held at 2 pm on Friday, November 5, 2021 at Laurel Hill Memorial Park in Spotsylvania, VA. A reception will follow at the family’s residence.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
