Donald was a graduate of James Monroe High School. He was a member of Spotsylvania Baptist Church and the Izaak Walton League. He worked for the Coca-Cola Distributing Company and the Fredericksburg Distribution Company.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Mary Virginia Rittner; his two daughters, Donna Marie May and Lori Mae Ryder; 6 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ester Mae Rittner and William Rittner; and his biological father, Gilbert Delano.
A graveside service will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
