Fran was a proud US Marine Corps wife and a die-hard Redskins fan. She also rooted for the Steelers as homage to her home state. She had a passion for gardening and all kinds of flowers. Her yard was an abundance of color from early spring to late fall due to the multitude of flowers, bushes, and trees that she lovingly cultivated. She was an avid crafter with her talents being crochet, needlepoint, and sewing. She also loved to read, preferring Amish romance novels and biographies. Her favorite place to vacation was Lancaster, PA, the heart of the Amish Country. She made many trips over the years to visit this area which had a special place in her heart. She enjoyed spending time with her family and hosted the family’s yearly Christmas Eve gathering, various family dinners, and several BBQs each year. She was a lady of many talents with a heart of gold, and a huge soft spot for all the grandbabies, great grandbabies, and great-great grandbabies with whom she loved to snuggle. Her sweet smile and lovely green eyes will be missed by her large multi-generational family and friends.
From her daughter, Cindy Gal:
“My mind still talks to you. My heart still looks for you. But my soul knows you’re at peace. My life is not the same. I’m going to miss our talks, doing things, and going places. So now you’re with Pops and dancing together. Love you always.”
From her daughter, Polly:
‘“Until we meet again in the next journey of our lives. We love and miss you beyond words and measure.”
From her daughter, Darby:
“When I was little, I told Momma I’d take care of her because she had taken care of me for so long. Family takes care of family, and I’m here. I’m not going anywhere. Then Momma started calling me her little angel. Every night we’d say, “I love you”, but I’d say, “I love you more, to Pluto and back and all of eternity.”
From her daughter, Denny:
“You were the best mom! You were my rock and my confidant. I could always count on you to be there for me anytime and for anything. You taught me so many lessons that took me way too long to learn and understand, but I am grateful for your unconditional love and patience. As I move forward in life without you, I know I will be okay, because you have made sure that I am a strong woman. I will forever love and miss you, my Little Momma.”
A Love So Dear
Those we love
don’t go away,
they walk beside us
every day.
Unseen, unheard,
but always near,
so loved, so missed,
so very dear.
