

He was a US Air Force veteran and worked at NSWC, Dahlgren for 31 years as a heavy equipment mechanic. He enjoyed his retirement years spending quality time with his family, hunting and fishing with his grandchildren and son-in-laws, metal detecting with his wife, and trapping raccoons with his brother.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years Clara; three daughters, Sandra Arrington and husband Sonny of Colonial Beach, Janice Sullivan and husband, Mark of Stafford, and Sharon Fleming and husband, Jerry of Stafford; two sisters, Thelma Williams of Florida and June Hall of Spotsylvania; one brother, Bernard Newton of Oklahoma; seven grandchildren, Robin Benner, Jerry Ronald Fleming Jr., Charles Stone Jr, Richard Corey Fleming, Dorey Reynolds, Jonmark Sullivan, and Sarah Sullivan; and fifteen great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 20, 2012 at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg an hour prior to the service.
Memorials may be made in his name to the White Oak Rescue Squad or the American Alzheimer’s Association.
