After the outbreak of WWII, he eagerly enlisted in the Army, becoming a proud member of 82nd Arborne. As a paratrooper/rifleman he fought in the Italy and Germany campaigns; Guy loved to share his experiences with anyone who would ask however, be prepared for a long conversation!
Guy was also a member in good standing in the International Sheet Metalworkers Association 100. After moving to Florida, he determined retirement was not what he wanted and decided to go to work for the US Postal Service until he was ready to retire again, in approximately 10 years.
Guy met his true love, Judy Keeler, in Washington, DC. They were married November 14, 1946, spending 56 happy years together until her passing in 2002.
Guy is survived by his sister Edna Hahn and his loving children: son Guy, Jr. and wife Kathy, daughter Delores and husband Jerry Merritt, grandsons, Richard Sens and Chad Merritt and wife Elizabeth, as well as great granddaughter Amelia Merritt. Son Patrick preceded Pop in 2006.
