EN EL CUIDADO DE
Mullins & Thompson Funeral Service
On November 29th, 2019 James (Jim) Dwight Livingston passed away while recovering from surgery.
Throughout his life, Jim has enriched the lives of those that surrounded him. As an elementary school teacher, he had the opportunity to shape the futures of countless children. His efforts in building the foundation of learning resulted in him being awarded "Elementary School Teacher of the Year", reaffirming his impact.
Later in life, Jim took on a new calling and became the first winery owner/operator in Stafford County when he opened Hartwood Winery. The winery, which just celebrated its 30th anniversary, has been foundational in the evolution of the Virginia winemaking industry. Through this work, he was able to establish cherished relationships with customers, volunteers, and employees that will be remembered for a lifetime.
While Jim is no longer with us, his legacy will live on. For the countless children, now in adulthood, leveraging the foundation that he helped build. For the countless people, he impacted through his work in the Virginia winemaking industry. For friends and family. Jim will be remembered dearly and greatly missed.
Memorials may be made in his name in lieu of flowers to the American Heart Association or Alzheimer's Association.
