Jeanne Claire Dandeneau Willis of Fredericksburg, aged 73, passed away at her home on 4 July 2019. She was the daughter of the late Joseph E. Dandeneau and Leona Marie St. Pierre Dandeneau of Providence, Rhode Island. She married Richard Willis on 2 January 1965 in Providence. She is survived by her husband and three children Nathan, Suzanne Winfield, and Elizabeth Hall. She and Richard have 4 grandchildren and one great grandchild. She was the sister of Edmond (Mary), Denis (Suzanne), Ernest (Lorraine), and Claire Dandeneau. Mrs. Willis was employed as a program management analyst at EG&G in Dahlgren, VA retiring in 2012 after 27 years. During her husband’s career in the Navy she worked for several other firms and served as the Ombudsman for Naval Surface Forces Atlantic and most of the commands to which her husband was assigned. As the Ombudsman she served as the commanding officer’s liaison to all the families of the command. She was a scout leader for the Girl Scouts. After retiring to Bradenton, Florida she was a volunteer with Southeastern Guide Dogs working with the dogs being raised as service animals. She particularly enjoyed weekend home visits with the pups. She enjoyed trips to Canada, Alaska, and the western United States. A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 from 1:00pm–3:00pm at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service, Fredericksburg Chapel.
