Johnathan Dale Middleton, beloved husband and friend found eternal peace on Saturday February 5, 2022. He is survived by his wife Leah Ramberg Middleton, parents Kenneth and Elizabeth Middleton, brother Stephen Middleton, sister -in-law Maria Middleton, niece Christina Middleton and many members of his music family.
Johnathan was a Fredericksburg native, a “townie” through and through. Born and raised in Fredericksburg, he had memories connected to every part of this vibrant community. He could often be found taking walks through Alum Springs Park or playing music at the college amphitheater. Never venturing far for long, he would always return to his roots eventually building a life here with his wife and their animals, including his faithful sidekick Maggie, who he adored.
Johnathan is indescribable in so many ways but I will try to provide a glimpse into the person we loved. His light was as bright as any star in the night sky. He had an unending sense of curiosity, brilliant mind and deep understanding of the human spirit. He knew no strangers and his generosity of spirit made everyone he met feel accepted. People were drawn to his kind and empathic nature. He was a masterful storyteller with a clever wit who could make anyone laugh, even himself. Johnathan was an avid reader and a brilliant writer who could leave an impact with the simplest of words. Often making friends and co-workers smile with a silly note or text. His greatest passion was music. Music was part of his being and how he expressed himself, both the highs and the lows of life. He found immense joy in singing and connecting with people through his lyrics believing music had the power to heal. It was his reason for being. When not playing music, he found his greatest sense of peace being with his wife either at home, volunteering or wherever they may roam.
Johnathan will be deeply missed by family and friends. We will seek comfort in the cherished memories and music he left behind. He will remain forever in our hearts and we are all better for having known him.
Friends are invited to say goodbye and celebrate his life at Mullins and Thompson Funeral Service in Fredericksburg, Virginia on Saturday March 19, 2022 from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, friends wishing to honor Johnathan are invited to make a donation in his name to a local animal rescue or plant a flower in remembrance.
