Known to many as a big-time drummer, Kevin lived his life to the beat of his own drum. Music was not just a passion—it was part of who he was. His remarkable talent behind the drums created unforgettable moments for all who were fortunate enough to hear him play.
Kevin was deeply loved by his family and friends—especially his children and grandchildren, who meant everything to him. He was a true blessing: kind, strong, funny, and generous. His presence filled every room he entered, and his stories, laughter, music, and spirit will be missed more than words can express.
Kevin is survived by his loving children, Brooke Lamson (Dennis) and Kevin Tansey (Wanda); his adored grandchildren, Cameron, Jamie Rae, and Giovanna; and his brothers, Gordon Basye (Anna), Dusty Basye, and Raymond Vermillion.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Warren Basye and Betty Waples; his granddaughter; and his sister, Jenny.
Kevin now rests in eternal peace, welcomed home by the Lord. God has raised him up on eagle’s wings, and the gates of Heaven stand wide open as he is reunited with love and grace. May his rhythm live on in every beat, and may his road continue beyond the horizon.
A celebration of Kevin’s life will be held on Saturday, January 24th, at Yorkshire Freewill Baptist Church, 7620 Chestnut St, Manassas, VA 20111. The service will begin at 11:30 a.m., followed by a lunch at the church.
Those wishing to attend the meal are asked to RSVP to Kevin’s daughter, Brooke Lamson, at 412-721-9723 (call or text).
