

Lawrence Thomas Clayton SR Lawrence Thomas Clayton Sr, 71, of Colonial Beach departed with the angels on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, at home surrounded by his family. We are THANKFUL for having him as long as we did during his battle of pancreatic cancer. Lawrence was born April 14, 1944, in St. Paul, North Carolina to Thomas & Lola Clayton. He was 1 of 8 children and is survived by his 2 sisters, Aileen & Mary, South Carolina. and 2 brothers, Everett, South Carolina and Roy in Ashland, VA. Lawrence worked for Arlington County, owned his own small engine repair shop and when he retired, delivered papers for The FREE LANCE STAR. His hobbies include fishing, hunting, gardening, woodworking and his favorite hobby: working on old cars and motorcycles with his son Larry. Lawrence is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Jean McDonald. Their son, Lawrence T Clayton, JR, of TX and his step children, Terry, Doug & Linda Jocham Colonial Beach. He has 10 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren that will miss him dearly. Viewing for friends and family will be held on Dec. 3rd @ Mullins & Thompson Funeral in Fredericksburg, VA from 6:00-8:00pm. A celebration of his life will be held at 10:00am Friday, Dec. 4th at Mullins & Thompson – 1621 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Fredericksburg, VA. – Grave side location: Mt. Comfort Cemetery, Alexandria VA @ 12:30pm – Family & Friends gathering thereafter at their home in Colonial Beach.
