

Leola Estelle Thompson, 92, of Spotsylvania, Virginia, passed away peacefully on March 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on January 17, 1934, in Stafford, Virginia, and later resided in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Leola is survived by her daughter, Marlene Thompson; her grandchildren, Tammy Surles, Ray Surles Jr., and Crystal Surles-Brewer; and her great-grandchildren: Devin Brewer, Christopher Surles and Miranda Surles.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Alvin “Clinton” Thompson Sr., and her parents, Stansbury and Lucille Bourne.
Leola will be remembered for her remarkable kindness and her unwavering commitment to brightening the lives of others. Her thoughtful gestures and compassionate spirit left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She loved her family deeply and held a strong faith in her Lord and Savior, which guided her throughout her life.
Leola’s heart is once again whole, as she is now reunited with the love of her life, Clinton.
In keeping with Leola’s wishes, services will be held privately.
To honor her memory and the kindness she exemplified throughout her life, the family kindly requests that others perform random acts of kindness in lieu of flowers.
