She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church and was the first women elected as the Clerk of the Court for the city of Fredericksburg.
She was preceded in death by her husband Earl D. Mills.
She is survived by three nieces, Gayle Hillert, Janet Spearman, and Donna Walther; two nephews, J. Craig Spearman and Kent Spearman; and numerous great nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Sunset Memorial Gardens at 2:00 PM.
Memorials may be made in her name to the American Heart Association.
