She was born to Migel and Leonor Cordoba Peňa in Cali, Colombia, South America on April 11, 1935. About seven years later her parents divorced and Leonor moved with Maria and her little sister to Panama, Central America where Leonor met and married Franklin Schupp, an American soldier who was serving in the intelligence Department of the Army during the Second World War. At the end of the war the family moved to the United States and Frank adopted Maria and her sister. He went on to be a wonderfully kind loving Dad. In 1954 Maria met and married Charles Gordon Finn to whom she was very happily married to for 28 years until God transferred him to heaven. Maria and Charles had four children. After being widowed for two years Maria married Eldon J. Ullmer with whom she had 37 loving blessed happy years of marriage. Maria graduated from Troy State University with a Bachelor’s degree in secondary education. She then went to the University of Maryland and acquired a Master’s degree in clinical social work. Her last job was at the Department of Psychiatric Genetics at the Medical College of Virginia working for Dr. Kenneth Kendler. She was a lay Franciscan and a member of St. Mary's of the Immaculate Conception in Fredericksburg Virginia.
