Perry Michael Newton

He was born on July 19, 1955, in Fredericksburg, VA to Luther Lee and Patricia Joyce (Perry) Newton.

He was a man who touched countless lives as a husband, father, son, papa, mechanic, friend, and brother. A provider in every sense of the word, Mike Newton, supported his family with unwavering dedication and was the one everyone turned to when something needed fixing. When the outlook was measured in months, he firmly fought on, lasting five remarkable years. He defied expectations, with the same strength and perseverance that defined his life. He was a warrior, pillar of his family, passing down lessons in hard work, resilience and tough love—through every fishing trip, every first shotgun, and every moment spent in his garage and home. Despite the pain weighing on him, he kept going, ensuring that those he loved were taken care of and protected, even ‘till his last heartbeat. His legacy is one of relentless strength, sacrifice, and a uniquely tough love— a love that nurtured us, pushed us to grow, while challenging us to be better, a beacon that will forever light our way.

Predeceased by his father: Luther Lee Newton; two sisters: Bonnie Harris and Marsha Ellen Newton; and one daughter: Angelia Casey.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia Joyce Perry Newton; his loving wife of 44 years, Darlene P. Newton; two daughters: Melissa Lanham (James) and Dena Hults (Mark); brother, Luther Lee Newton, Jr. (Martha); sister, Connie Ann Newton; grandchildren: Shelbie Newton, Haley McCullen (Danny), Alexis French, Michael Lanham, Zach Hults and Alex Hults; great grandchildren: Bailey Chunn, Brandie Chunn, Jesse Chunn, Brianna Chunn, Brooklyn Chunn, Isabella Pearl Adams, Alyus Hults, Judson Hults and Calliope Hults; sisters-in-law: Tammy Almond (Bill), Irene Hylton and Lorraine Belton; brother-in-law, Ernest Frost; dear friend, Debbie Newton and best friend, Allen Sullivan. Also surviving are numerous, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

A celebration of Michael's life will be held on Saturday, July 19, 2025 (his birthday) at 2:00 PM at his home at 129 Newton Road, Falmouth, VA 22405.
