Robert Lee Akers Jr.

He was born on May 7, 1942, in Whitestone, Virginia, son of Robert L. Akers and Catherine F. Davis. He was a loving husband, father, brother and grandfather. He loved the Lord with all his heart. He was married to his wife, Virginia, for 64 years. He retired from General Products after 15 years of service. Bobby was a member of Round Oak Baptist Church for over 30 years.

He is survived by his loving wife, Virginia Akers; children, Robert Neal (Vikki) Akers and Catherine A, Sullivan; grandchildren, Sierra (Ryan) Hockaday and Cody Sullivan; great grandchildren, Jacob and Jesse Hockaday; siblings, Jimmy Akers, William Akers, Margie Headley; his Boston Terrier (Holly).

Predeceased by his parents; siblings, Mary Hogg, and Marie Hayden.

A visitation for Robert will be held Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 11:00 AM with a service to follow at 12:00PM at Round Oak Baptist Church, 15025 Pepmeier Hill Rd, Woodford, VA 22580. A committal service will occur Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Gardens, 3702 Loren Dr, Fredericksburg, VA 22408.
