

“Rosie” was born Rosemary Marguerite Snyder to Lawrence and Mary Snyder on February 16, 1942. She graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1963 with a degree in Business Administration and became a Vol for life! It was at UT where she met her beloved husband Dayton “Butch” Crews.
She was a devoted wife for 58 years, loving Mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. Rosie also volunteered for over 40 years at Messiah United Methodist Church in Springfield, Virginia. She enjoyed her book club, playing cards and spending time with family. She brought joy and laughter to everyone she encountered. She was known for her gentle kindness, blue eyes, and glowing smile.
Rosie leaves behind her daughter, Lisa Crews Ross; son in law, Gerald Edward Ross; daughter in law, Robin Hylton Crews; granddaughter, Taylor Ross Testman (husband, Nicholas Andrew Testman); grandson, Carter Dayton Ross; great granddaughter, Avery Margaret Testman; great grandson Crews Lovell Testman; her sister, Marcia Tharp and her nephew, Richard Tharp. She is preceded in death by her son, Brian Lawrence Crews and her husband Dayton Lynwood “Butch” Crews.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Rosie Crews at Messiah United Methodist Church on December 28, 2022, at 10:00 AM: 6215 Rolling Road, West Springfield Virginia 22152, with an onsite reception to follow. Internment will take place December 29, 2022 at 1:00 PM: Fort Hill Memorial Park, 5196 Fort Avenue, Lynchburg Virginia 24502.
