Edith was born on October 25, 1928 in Fulton, MO the daughter of Henry and Eda (Lamers) Diehl who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage on June 13, 1946 in Fulton, MO to Cecil Gene Craghead. She was a charter member of Southside Baptist Church in Fulton, MO. Edith retired from Briggs IGA as the manager of the snack bar. In her spare time, she enjoyed quilting, sewing, playing cards, cooking, reading her bible and spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include: her husband of 78 years, Gene Craghead of the home; two sons, Richard Craghead of Columbia, MO and James “Dale” Craghead (Christie) of Fulton, MO; three grandchildren, Jennifer Salmons (Brent), Chad Craghead, Casey Craghead (Amber) and Amy Craghead and seven great grandchildren, Jacquelyn Salmons, Jessica Salmons (Neil Radford), Janae Salmons (Wesley Henke), Joshua Craghead, Kayley Craghead (Payton Olsson), Zac Craghead and Madison Craghead. She was also preceded in death by five brothers, Louis Diehl, Fred Diehl, August Diehl, Carl Diehl and William Diehl and four sisters, Katherine Maddox, Rosie Myers, Lillian Edwards and Mary Bess.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Southside Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am at the church with Pastor Guy Thomas officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton, MO.
