

James S. Summers, 96, of Fulton passed away Tuesday, July 16, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor in Fulton. He was born December 18, 1916 in Columbus, Oh., the son of the late John H. and Louise S. (Sanns) Summers.
Jim taught Biology at William Woods University for 42 years, retiring Professor Emeritus in 1994. He continued to reside on the William Woods University campus following retirement, remaining a part of the WWU community. He was a member of St. Alban’s Church, Beta Theta Pi, and Kiwanis Club of Fulton.
He is survived by his sister-in-law, Harriett Summers of Sarasota, Fl.; nephew, Tim Summers and his wife Carmie of Naperville, Il.; and niece, Nancy Pollack and her husband A. J. of Columbus, Oh. His parents and one brother, Thomas S. Summers, preceded him in death.
Memorial services will be held at 11 am on Monday, July 22, 2013 at St. Alban’s Church with Pastor Marshall Crossnoe officiating.
In lieu of customary memorials, the family suggests memorial donations be made in Jim’s name to William Woods University or St. Alban’s Church, c/o Debo Funeral Home, 833 Court Street, Fulton, Mo. 65251.
