May was born on August 25, 1927 in Steedman, MO, the daughter of the late Guy Hershel Bezler and Annie Lena (Krebs) Bezler who preceded her in death. On her 21st birthday in 1948, she was united in marriage to Raymond Frank Wendring, who preceded her in death on August 4, 1995.
May was a graduate of Mokane High School. She spent her life raising a family on the family farm. In 1976, she continued her education and obtained a nursing degree from Jefferson City Vocational School. She was employed at the Riverview Nursing Center until her retirement. May was a member of the Steedman Sunshine Club and Senior Singers. She enjoyed playing the piano for the Senior Center and the Methodist Churches in Steedman, Mokane and Tebbetts.
She will be fondly remembered by two sons, James Wendring (Cheryl) and John Wendring (Theresa) of Fulton, MO; three daughters, Gloria Cluster (John), Donna Weinzettel and Susan Wendring of Fulton, MO; seven grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three great great-grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two sisters Meta Bezler Laurie and Dorothy Bezler Illig.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 21, 2022 from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm at Debo Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm at the funeral home with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Burial will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens, Fulton, MO.
