

Robert G. “Bob” Gowin, 95, of Fulton passed away Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Presbyterian Manor. He was born November 21, 1917 in Williamsburg, Mo., the son of the late Frank Lee and Cordelia (Bentley) Gowin.
Bob was united in marriage to Edith Hume on January 4, 1941 in Warrenton, Mo. She preceded him in death.
For over 20 years Betty Gaumer was Bob’s companion. She preceded him in death on December 14, 2002.
Bob grew up in Williamsburg and made him home south of Calwood. He served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed working with mules and horses. He retired from Harbison Walker.
Bob is survived by two sons, Jim Gowin and his wife Diann of Williamsburg, Ia, and Rusty Gowin and his wife Susan of Hallsville; two daughters, Sharon Gowin of Fulton, and Nita Dinardi of Alexandria, Egypt; brother, Roy Gowin of Adam, Wisconsin; sisters, Daisy Perry and Ruby Wheat, both of Fulton; ten grandchildren, Terry Gowin of Atlanta, Ga., Dan Gowin of Altoona, Ia., Andy Hudson of Auxvasse, Arron Moser of Auxvasse, Richard Grimm of Kansas City, Mo., Rocksanna Witte of Kansas City, Mo., Matthew Gowin of Columbia, Mo., Charles Gowin of Hallsville, Mo., Maggie Gowin of Fulton, and William Gowin of Washington DC; and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; son, Robby Gowin; one sister; seven brothers; and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment will follow in Millersburg Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 pm on Friday, March 1, 2013 at the funeral home.
