Albert W. Shipman

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. Albert W. Shipman of Henrietta, New York recently residing in Gadsden, AL who passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2012. Pastor Joey Hanner will officiate. Burial will be at Rushville Cemetery in Rushville, New York at a later time. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.

Albert was born September 18, 1927 in Canandaigua, New York. He served 4 years in the United States Navy including a tour on the U.S.S. Okanogan during the Korean War. He lived most of his live with his wife in Henrietta, NY and retired after 39 years at Kodak or Rochester. He was preceded in death by his wife Joan E. Carr Shipman.

He is survived by his sister, Joan M. Shipman, daughter, Debra L. Shipman Huck, Gadsden, grandchildren, Shane and Kaylee Huck, Ball Play, AL and Shawn and Sabrina Huck, Centre, AL, great grandchildren, Jordann, Chevy and Sadie Huck, special family members Faye, Terry and Sam Pruitt of Gadsden, AL and Velma Hollaway, Glenda, Willy, Cheyenne and Bo Brumett of Hokes Bluff, AL.

The family extends special thanks to Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Mediassist, Dr. Warren and Dr. Kelly.

In lieu of flowers and wreaths the family requests potted plants.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
