Mrs. Anita Sue Hodge Barron, age 84, 1075 Highland Lane, Gadsden, Alabama 35904, went to be with her Lord and Savior on the morning of Wednesday, February 28, 2018. Graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 03, 2018 at 1pm at Mt. Pisgah Cemetery. Rev. Daniel Boutwell will officiate.
Mrs. Barron was much loved by everyone and will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
She was a gifted artist and loved working with ceramics.
She loved musicals, with her favorite being “Singing in the Rain”. She loved working in her flowers and vegetable garden. Mrs. Barron was a member of Fairview Baptist Church, she enjoyed driving her school bus for Highland Elementary and Etowah High Schools. She loved traveling with her husband, Jimmy, to various functions of The Order of the Amarath! and was a member of The Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Alvie Hodge,; brother, Robert Hodge; special niece, Donna Hodge.; and Father and Mother-in-law, Herbert and Florence Barron.
Mrs. Barron is survived by her loving husband, Jimmy Barron; step-sons, Douglas Scott Barron and Rolf Barron; step-daughter, Jill Renee Cooper; nephews, Gary, Robert Earl, and Michael Hodge; niece Debbie Hodge; brother-in-law, Eugene (Eulaine) Barron; sister-in-law, Betty (Raymond) Covington.
Numerous nieces and nephews from Jimmy’s family.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alabama Diabetes’s Fund/Chris Bennett, Grand Secretary, Grand Court of Alabama, 4615 New Hope Drive Pascagaula, Mississippi, 38581.
Pallbearers will be nephews, Gary, Robert Earl, and Michael Hodge, Brandon Talbot, Barry Ellison, and Daniel Fleming.
Honorary Pallbearers are Eugene Barron, Raymond Covington, J.M. Ellison, Eugene Mann, Roman Hochhalter, Lawrence Penn and Billy Clyde Hodge.

The family will accept close friends and family for a private visitation on Friday evening, March 02, 2018 at 5pm at the residence.
