Bennie Gene Bellew, age 69, of Rainbow City, AL passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Collier-Butler Funeral Home. Bro. Charles Bellew will officiate. Burial will follow at Aurora Cemetery. The family will accept friends from 1:00PM until 2:00PM at the funeral home on Monday.
Bennie was preceded in death by his parents, Radford T and Mae Bellew; brothers, Bobby Joe, Jerry Ross; sisters, Sue Tucker, and Charlotte Morrison.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; brother, Elbert (Gayle) Bellew; sisters, Donna (Wayne) Hindman and Betty (Ed) Clay; son, Brent Bellew; stepson, Jason Usrey; stepdaughter, Nicole (Jon) Alexander; grandchildren, Adam Mangum, Zac Mangum, Tyler Cromer, and Destiny Hightower; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Joey Bellew, Shae Bellew, Phillip Bellew, Buddy Hindman, Eddie Bellew, Jon Alexander, and Brandon Haygood.
The family wishes to express a special thanks to Bandon and Sherry Haygood, Danny and Virginia Bohanan, Amedisys Hospice, and special nurses Sommer and Blaze.
