Betty Moyers Beene

Funeral service for Mrs. Betty Moyers Beene, 84, Gadsden, who passed away June 26 will be 7 PM Tuesday at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Justin Ward, Rev. Lauil Thompson, and Rev. David Jenkins will officiate. Graveside service will be 11 AM Wednesday at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Betty was a native and lifelong resident of Gadsden and was a member of South Highland Baptist Church. She served as pianist for many years and was also a Sunday school teacher, WMU member, and choir member. She played the piano for Mrs. Mable’s Kindergarten. She was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Beene; her son, Matt Beene; her parents, Herman M. and Claudia Stroud Moyers; sisters, Onita Reed and Dorothy Rogers; and brothers, Phillip and Ernest Moyers.

Survivors include special friend, H.P. Gable; daughter, Sandy (Warren)Fuhrman; sons, Steve and Lee Beene; grandchildren, Ginger (Guy Vickers) McBride, Gary “Mac” (Michelle) McBride, Tammy (Paul) Thornton, Toni McCord, Bart Fuhrman, Morgan (Brian) Cline, Rebecca (Brian) Elrod, Andy Beene; great-grandchildren, Caleb, Abby, and Coley Thornton, Mallory (Tim) Humphries, Luke McBride, Alex Fuhrman, Robert McBride, George, Marion, and David Vickers.

Pallbearers will be family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be special friends at Holy Comforter House.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to South Highland Baptist Church.

The family will be accepting friends on Tuesday evening from 5 until time of service.
