Betty Jean Breeden

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at Black Creek Baptist Church for Mrs. Betty Jean Lawson Breeden, 82, Gadsden who passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013. Revs. Chris Connell, Gary Lawson and Joseph Nix will officiate with burial at the adjoining cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.

Mrs. Breeden was a native and lifelong resident of Etowah County. She was a graduate of Glencoe High School Class of 1949. Mrs. Breeden was a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and retired from Life of Alabama Insurance Company after 43 years of service. She was a life member of the Eastern Star. She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy D. Breeden, father, William Grover Lawson, Sr., mother, Vera Adele Lawson, sisters, UnaRee Chapman and Sybil (Glenn) Kirby, brother, William Grover Lawson, Jr., nephew, Steve Lawson, father and mother-in-law, Rev. and Mrs. J. Frank Breeden.

Survivors include her daughter, Nina Kay Breeden Blackwell, son, Ronnie Lee Blackwell, special grandson, Braden Lee (Michelle) Blackwell, special great grandson, Carson Grey Blackwell, brothers, Gordon (Betty) Lawson, Florida, Gary (Patsy) Lawson, Huntsville, brother-in-law, Daniel F. (Jo) Breeden, Florida, numerous nieces and nephews, special friends, Hazel Oliver, Jannie Nix, Myra Vance, Traci Sharpe, Jack and Elaine Green, Mickey Brewster, Whaley and Jimmie Tedder.

Mother was a loving Daughter, Sister, Wife, Mother and Gran. She will be forever missed.

Pallbearers will be: Terry Chapman, Mike Kirby, Derek Locklear, Terry Nix, Matthew Otinger, Billy Smith, Scott Lawson and Paul Filush.

Honorary Pallbearers will be members of Black Creek Baptist Church, Eastside Baptist Church, Altoona, Employees and Staff at Life Insurance Company of Alabama, Patrick Chapman.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Black Creek Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 244 Black Creek Road, Collinsville, AL 35961.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
