

Funeral services will be at 12:30pm Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Bobby Roy Pitts, 74, of Gadsden, who passed away Saturday, January 17, 2015. Joey Hanner, Jack Campbell and John Richey will officiate. Burial will be at Union #3 Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Pitts, a native of Cherokee County, Alabama, lived, worked and raised his family in Atlanta, GA for 38 years. Since moving back home to Gadsden 15 years ago, Bobby attended and loved Macedonia Baptist Church in Coats Bend. Most recently, he attended and joined Union #3 in Ballplay where he and Ginger were married 52 years ago. Bobby loved his God, family, friends and church with a passion. He spent most of his recent time with his grandchildren on tractors, golf carts and around bonfires.
He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Emanuel Pitts; mother Lola Helms Pitts; brothers Clifford Eads, George Eads and Kenneth Pitts.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Ginger Sewell Pitts; daughters Tammy Michelle Pitts, Lawrenceville, GA, and Kimberly Lynnette Pitts, Gadsden, AL; son Shanon Roy (Emma) Pitts, Norcross, GA; Grandchildren, Bobby Mason Honeycutt, Vera Elizabeth Pitts and Henry Michael Pitts; sister Barbara (Brant) Jenkins; nephews Charles, Mike and Joey Eads; nieces Lisa Pitts, Cat Scussel, and Patsy Corbin.
Pallbearers will be Charles Eads, Rodney Roberts, Ronnie Hollingsworth, Randall Fells, Jeff Sauls and Buggs Kilgore.
Special buddies that were waiting fo him, Jack Kisor and Frank Sullivan.
Special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Gadsden Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, AL.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Etowah Baptist Mission Center in Gadsden, AL.
The family will accept friends Tuesday from 10:30 – 12:30 pm at the funeral home.
