Dr. Cecil O. Brown

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 14, 2011, at Collier-Butler Funeral Chapel for Dr. Cecil O. Brown, 83, Gadsden, who passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011. Rev. Gary Cardwell and Bob Thornton will officiate with burial at Pelham Cemetery with military honors.. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.

Dr. Brown was a native of Chapman, AL and a longtime resident of Etowah County. He received his masters and doctorate degrees from New Orleans Seminary. He was pastor of several churches, including Calvary Baptist (1971-1980). He was a veteran of the U S Army. Those who preceded him in death are his parents, A.C. and Irie Lee Brown, brothers, Rufus and Billy Brown, sisters, Helen Brantley, Mary Alice Wilkerson and Annette Atkinson.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ollie L. Brown, Gadsden

Daughter, Ms. Maurine Brown, Albertville, AL

Son, Mark (Cathy) Brown, Talbott, TN

Grandsons, John-Mark Brown and Dylan Brown, both of Talbott, TN

Several Nieces and Nephews

Pallbearers will be, Jimmy Lee, Joe Lee, Joe Alan Lee, Ricky King, John-Mark Brown and Dylan Charles Brown.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Ralph Wesley and Dr. Thomas Corley.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to MANNA, P O Box 1623, Gadsden, AL 35902-1623

Visitation will be Tuesday evening from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
