Delorus Scott Baker

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2012 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Delorus Scott Baker, age 83, of Gadsden who passed away Thursday, December 19, 2013. Pastors Randy Postell, John Dickinson, Bill Harbison, and Music Minister Allen Hudson will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Ms. Baker was a lifelong resident of Gadsden. She was a member of East Gadsden Baptist Church and retired from Wal-Mart Super Center, Gadsden.

Ms. Baker was preceded in death by her parents, Gladys and Jep Scott; brother, Jeppy L. Scott; sisters, Elizabeth Scott, and Evelyn Owens; brother-in-law, Odell Owens; sister-in-law, Mary Scott; previous husband Ralph Baker; and special niece, Kathy Tullis.

Ms. Baker is survived by her son, Scott (Katie) Baker; grandchildren, Jordan and Adrian Baker (her precious Angels), niece, Sandra (Bill) Crowell; nephews: Jeppy (Rita) Owens, John (Debbie) Scott, Bart (Myra) Scott: and a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Pallbearers will be nephews: Todd Tullis, Tyler Tullis, Jay Owens, Chad Owens, Kurt Scott, Brett Scott, Matt Miller, Wendell Clark, Dagan Clark, Tab Carr, Brandon Carr, and grandson Jordan Baker.

Honorary pallbearers will be: Charles Carr, the late Charles Freeman, Ronald Stancil, members of East Gadsden Baptist Church, Wal-Mart Associates of Gadsden, neighbors, and personal friends.

Special thanks to Dr. Thomas Corley, Dr. Ralph Wesley, Dr. Bryan McGwier, Dr. Butch Douthit, Dr. Asif Kaleem, Dr. Kabir, employees of the 8th floor at Gadsden Regional Medical Center, Alacare, and special friends: Frankie Copeland, Nancy Freeman, Susie Henry, and Hassie Wood.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to East Gadsden Baptist Church Youth Fund or your favorite charity.

The family will accept friends Sunday, December 22, 2013 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
