Don Larry Miles

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Dr. John Gay will officiate. Family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Miles was preceded in death by his mother, Doris Juanita Lewis; father, Searcy Miles; and step-father, Julian W. Gay.

He leaves behind his wife, Mary Jane Miles; step-sister, Charlotte (Tim) Beblo, step-brothers, Brian (Charmin) Miles, Dr. John (Debbie) Gay, Peter Wayne Gay, and Charles (Donna) Gay; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Miles worked for Lucent Technologies as a Product Manager and traveled extensively during his 33 year career. He graduated from Georgia State University in Atlanta, GA. He served on the Etowah-Cherokee Board of Realtors and on the International House Committee for Gadsden State Community College. In addition, he was an avid Georgia Tech fan and season ticket holder for over 40 years, attending 95% or more of all home games as well as other games.

Mr. Miles had a genuine love and affection for people and dearly loved two special cousins (Brenda Windham and Ronald Young). He will be missed by all who knew him.

Pallbearers will be his step-brothers and cousins, Ronald Young, Clark Lewis, and Ray Lewis.
