Doris R. Stone

Chapel services for Mrs. Doris H. Stone, 78, of Gadsden, will be held 2 p.m. today, October 7, 2012, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. David Chandler will officiate with burial to follow at Rainbow Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Stone died Friday, October 5, 2012, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Mrs. Stone was a lifelong resident of Etowah County and was a member of North Gadsden Baptist Church. She worked many years at Mid-South Industries. Mrs. Stone was an avid reader and a lover of all pets.

She is survived by her sons, Hiram Stone and Larry Stone; daughter, Linda (Charles) Hutchison; grandchildren, Lisa (Eric) Sinyard, Samantha Stone, Jenna (Josh) Taylor, and Courtney Hutchison; sisters, Jewel (Guy) Ross and Sylvia (Fred) Petty.

Mrs. Stone is preceded in death by her husband, Chester Stone; brother, George (Evelyn) Haun; and her parents, George and Myrtice Haun.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

The Stone family will receive friends today from 12:30 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to her granddaughter, Lisa Sinyard, who was a wonderful and loving caregiver.
