Dorothy H. Davis

Dorothy H. Davis, age 89, of Lakemoor, Illinois, and formerly of Prospect Heights for 52 years, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2012, at Centegra Northern Illinois Medical Center in McHenry. She was born November 16, 1922, in Collinsville, Alabama. The owner of Frank’s Floors, Dorothy was also a member of Arlington Countryside Church, past matron of Order of Eastern Star, and WHP of White Shrine of Jerusalem. She is survived by her children, Tom (Mary) Davis, Sylvia Vedral-Davis, and Frankie (Frank II) Desmond; her grandchildren, Diana Davis, Theresa (Steve) Highley, Thomas Davis II, and Frank (Diana) Desmond III; nine great-grandchildren, and three great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Frank H. Davis, her parents, and 12 brothers and sisters. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 2, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services in Gadsden. Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 3, 2012, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Collinsville with burial to follow in the adjoining cemetery.
