

Funeral services will be Sunday, November 25th, 2018, at 3:30 p.m., at Collier-Butler Chapel for Douglas “Doug” Gray, 70, of Gadsden, who went to his heavenly home Wednesday, November 21st, 2018, after an extended illness. Rev. Kenneth Lasseter will officiate. Interment will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services.
Doug was a 1966 graduate of Etowah High School. He grew up in White Springs Baptist Church, then joined Bellevue Baptist Church, and finally joined Fairview Baptist Church in his later years. He was employed Gadsden Steel Plant and later after closing, AAA Plumbing Pottery. Doug loved the outdoors, hiking, fishing, camping, and hunting. He was an avid Auburn Tigers and New York Yankees fan. He also had a love for traveling and visiting new places during his life. Doug will always be remembered as a huge family man. He was a great father, “Paw Paw”, and brother.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leon and Esther Gray; son, Jeramy Gray; and special pet, “Maggie”.
Survivors include his wife, Patsy Gray; sons, Jason (Janice) Gray, Jonathan (Kristie) Gray; grandchildren, Caleb, Carson, J.J., and Jase Gray; sisters, Gail Watts, Phyllis (Charlie) Watts, Becky Gray; brothers, Glenn (Carolyn) Gray, Neil (Jessie) Gray.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Walden, Kyle Minyard, Paul Millirons, Ken Guthery, and Ricky Clough.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Alacare Home Health & Hospice, especially Lindsey and Mary.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
