Dwight Doyle Denson

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Dwight Doyle Denson, 66, of Sharpsburg, GA (Formerly of Southside, AL) who passed away Wednesday, December 24, 2014. Rev. Gary Ashley will officiate. Burial will be at Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Denson was born and raised in Gadsden. He graduated from Southside High School and attended Jacksonville State University. Dwight was very active in First Baptist Church of Southside while he resided there and at New Hope Baptist Church in Fayetteville, GA later in life. He loved the Lord and his family very much.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jimmy Doyle and Nannie Lou Denson; and his first wife, Jean McNeal Denson.

He is survived by his loving wife, Colleen D. Denson; children, Shane (Katie) Denson, Michael (Bree) Denson, Matthew (Lindsy) Jones, Kjersten (Chad) Denney, and Nicholas Jones; grandchildren, Kyleigh and Mason Denney, Amelia Jones, and Gideon Denson; brothers, David (Sheila) Denson, Terry (Karan) Denson, and George (Kathy) Denson; wonderful cousin, Bob Myrick; and many nieces.

Pallbearers will be Shane, Michael, David, Terry, and George Denson; Matthew and Nicholas Jones; and Chad Denney.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southwest Christian Care, Union City, GA www.swchristiancare.org.

The family will accept friends from 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
