Floyd "Chris" Chastain

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2015 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Floyd “Chris” Chastain, 91, of Gadsden, who passed away Sunday, December 6, 2015. Pastor Randy Gunter and Rev. Van Lockridge will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mr. Chastain attended Gadsden City schools and was a radio personality for WGAD and WJBY from 1963-1981. He was a member of the John Daniel Quartet, Nashville, TN and Gadsden Exchange Club. He was also a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rita Reardon Chastain; daughter, Denise Chastain Skeen; and parents, Floyd and Bessie Chastain.

Mr. Chastain is survived by his daughter, Teresa Chastain Beck; grandchildren, Jennifer Beck (Hunter) Locke, Christopher Edward (Susan) Beck, Charles Edward Skeen, III, and Christa Skeen (Dewey) Dixon; and six great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Jones, Kent Henslee, Patrick White, Ed Gartman, Dallas McElroy, Whaley Tedder, and all my Meadowbrook family.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Autism Society of America (ASA).

Special thanks to the staff and administration of Col. Robert L. Howard State Veterans Home, Pell City, AL.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00p.m. prior to the service.
