

He is survived by his sisters, Marianne Fuhrman and Lynne (Robby) Newton; nieces, April (Chad) Roberson, Alicia (Michael) Garmon, Andrea Fuhrman, and Leslie (Neil) Perrin; nephew, Matt (Megan) Newton; stepdaughters, Ginger and Joyce Gentile; and several great nieces and nephew.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Mack and Wanda Parker; wife Sharon; brother-in-law, Lowell Fuhrman; and his grandparents.
Gary was a 1964 graduate of Gadsden high and graduated from Samford University in Birmingham. He served in the Army reserves for 13 years. He was in human resources with Coca-Cola in Rome, Italy, and served in human resources at many places here in the United States. He lived in New York for many years and recently came home to Gadsden. He was also a survivor of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
A visitation for Gary will be held Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Collier-Butler Funeral Home, 824 Rainbow Drive, Gadsden, AL 35901. Following the visitation will be a graveside at 2:30 PM at Crestwood Cemetery, 2209 E Broad St, Gadsden, AL 35903.
Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to a charity of your choice in Gary’s honor.
