Geneva Elisabeth Esslinger

Funeral services will be Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Collier-Butler Funeral Home for Geneva Elizabeth Esslinger, 78, of Gadsden, who passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012. Rev. Jay Stewart will officiate. Burial will be at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.

Mrs. Esslinger was a member of Dwight Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Howard “Bunky” Esslinger; parents: Virgil and Lucille Abernathy; brother Jimmy Abernathy; grandson: Chandler Mitchell; and brother-in-law: Larry Esslinger.

She is survived by her Son: Robert (Lana) Esslinger; daughters: Carol (Abe) Williams, and Melissa Mitchell; grandchildren: Mandy Vann, Megan Vann, Micah Esslinger, , Matthew Esslinger (Emily Dutton), Pierce Mitchell, and McKinlee Mitchell; great-grandchildren: Ayden Jackson, and Avery Vann; brother-in-law, Gary (Patsy) Esslinger; sister-in-law: Angie Esslinger; and longtime friend: Janet Staples.

Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to Dwight Baptist Church New Life Center.

Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2012 form 12:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
