
Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 2, 2012, at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mrs. Georgie G. Veal, 82, of Ballplay. Rev. Roger Butler will officiate. Burial will follow in Union #3 Cemetery. Mrs. Veal died Saturday, September 29, 2012, at Gadsden Regional Medical Center. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Mrs. Veal was a devoted Christian, a loving wife and mother, and had a delightful sense of humor. She made people fall in love with her.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy (Richard) Copeland, Darlene (Chet) Soop, Jan (Skeeter) Crim, and Donna (Darrell) Bryant of Louisiana; a son Rickey Veal; grandchildren, Andrew Nelson, Nancy Workman, James (Nancy) Lipscomb, Randy Veal, Leighanne Puckett, Sharae (Todd) Rouse, Chris (Jacquelyn) Crim, and Sara Beth Crim; great grandchildren, Shelley Franklin, Adam Franklin, Allen Lipscomb, Ben Lipscomb, Diane Lipscomb, Brittany Lipscomb, Hunter Puckett, Lairah Rouse, Landry Rouse, Chasidy Crim, Preston Crim, Lindsey Crim, and Leloni Crim.
She is preceded in death her husband, Ben Ellis Veal; parents, John Crumbley and Edna Meers; brothers, Gilbert Crumbley, Donnie Crumbley, and Charles Crumbley; and children, Jimmy Dale Veal, Mary Ellen Nelson, and Alvin Randall Veal.
Pallbearers will be Chet Soop, Skeeter Crim, Darrell Bryant, James Lipscomb, Randy Veal, and Allen Lipscomb.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 1, 2012, from 6-8 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services in Gadsden.
The family extends a special thanks to chosen family, Gadsden Health and Rehab, Dr. Deborah Reiland, Dr. George Walker, Roger Butler, and Dennis and Lillian Johnson.
