Funeral services will be Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at 11:30 a.m., at Collier-Butler chapel for Gilbert “Pete” Walters, 83, of Gadsden, who passed away Sunday, June 22, 2014. The Rev. Doyce Dowdy Jr. will officiate. Interment will be at Forrest Cemetery.
Mr. Walters was preceded in death by his daughter, Patti M. Walters; and son-in-law, Gary A. Archer.
He is survived by his spouse, Patsy D. Walters; daughter, Phelicia W. Archer; brother, Jack Walters, and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Doyce Dowdy, Gene Cleveland, Jay Dowdy, Fred Benefield, Ralph Godfrey, and Chuck Durham.
Honorary pallbearers will be all members and friends of Bellevue United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorial contributions to be made to Bellevue United Methodist Church in Mr. Walters’ name.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
