Holley Freeman Sparks was my closest friend when our husbands were in medical school together at UAB. I was not from Alabama, but Holley embraced me right away and made me feel at home. Our first babies, Ryan and Clara, were born just two weeks apart. We had the joy of experiencing pregnancy and first-time motherhood together. Nothing will ever replace that bond. Every weekend for four years was spent either at our house or the Sparks’ house, grilling out and drinking beer, listening to music, laughing, doting on our babies, and just loving life together. It was the most wonderful time and among the best memories of my life. Holley and I both worked part-time to keep our young families and student-husbands afloat. Several days each week we’d talk on the phone, even though we only lived about a block apart. We mainly talked when Ryan and Clara were napping mid-day. We’d discuss baby news, strategies for surviving on a dime, work woes, joys of life and set-backs, and of course our weekend plans. Those were very happy days and I feel so blessed that not only did I know Holley, but that she and her family were such an important part of my life. She was an amazing woman, and my heart aches for all who grieve her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.

Such a beautiful lady inside and out! It was my pleasure waiting on Holley as a client who was always so pleasant.  When discussing her sons, you could sense her pride. She would be proud of each of her sons in whatever direction they take in life.  I am so very sorry for your loss, and praying for peace, comfort and direction for each of your family members as it is such an unimaginable loss. This community was  a better place with Holley. 

So sorry to the Sparks family. You are all in my prayers. Holley was an amazing lady.

I had the pleasure of meeting Holley in 2014. Although I didn't see her often, when I did it was just like we had just seen each other. She was always so friendly and upbeat.  I found her to be such an inspiration,  a truly kind soul. I just wanted you all to know what a wonderful person I knew her to be, that she most certainly touched so many  with her kindness, bright smile, and great attitude.  May peace be with you, knowing she is in her heavenly home.

Mrs. Holley taught religious education classes at St. James Church and my oldest daughter Anaya was in her class. She was always smiling and so sweet with the children. Her commitment to the Lord Jesus was undeniable, she truly had a servant’s heart and we are so sad to hear of her passing. Our prayers are with her family during this difficult time. We was taking after her first surgery my mom had issues same time Mrs holly always comforted me with her words she told me the lord would guide us threw it and take care of us she is one of few people that I really listen to about god has all I store for us she was concerned about my mom as she was her self Mrs holly is loved by everyone may god walk with there family everyday in comfort she is our heavenly angel now watching over us at times we need it we love y’all and was glad spend all time I could around her allways so cheer full 

So sorry to hear about Holley. I am grateful to have met and known her if even for a short time. She was a wonderful, kind and loving woman who certainly put her family first! Thoughts and prayers go out to your family and may God provide you strength during this difficult time.

I did not personally know Holley but I did see her on occasion and I was always amazed at her strength in the face of adversity.  I know she is healed and whole in the arms of Jesus and running through the streets of gold.  My condolences and prayers go to this precious family.

I met Holley at a Gadsden City Baseball game. Will and Ryan played together. I was also a patient  of Dr.Dierick. I told her that every time I got sick they were on vacation. She asked me if I wanted their home phone number. Dr Dierick almost fainted. She was a really sweet young lady.  My prayers are with the family 

Our hearts ache for the Sparks and Freeman families.  There are no words to express how sorry we are.  We pray for God to wrap his loving arms around you and to give you his comfort and his peace.

During the years, I have seen Holley in numerous activities with her sons and husband. She always had a smile on her face and was actively enjoying all of their lives. Please accept my prayers to her family as they continue to love Holley in their hearts. 

What an amazing and beautiful lady! Our sons ....Jake and Bradley have grown up together! Jim met her while Nolen Glass was working on a new shower door  for the Sparks! They realized Bradley and Jake had the same birthdays! Our boys played sports together and grew up together ! Over the years and after the passing away of Jim ... she has been such an inspiration to me! There was never one thing she could not do! She was tough and very independent! My whole family loved her and the Sparks family! We will continue to keep them all in our prayers ! 

Our contact with your family has been mainly through sports....namely, GCHS baseball.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you now and in the days to come.

Holley always had a smile on her face despite every obstacle she faced. Actually, I am smiling now just thinking of her! She lived and loved BIG and the Stafford family is grateful for the time we spent with her. We love you Dierick, Ryan and the entire Sparks family!
