Imogene Alford

Funeral Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Covenant Christian Church, Appalachian Highway, for Mrs. Imogene Alford, 86, Hokes Bluff who passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014. Dr. Rodney Gilmore will officiate. Burial at Young’s Chapel Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services Directing.

Mrs. Alford was a native and lifelong resident of Hokes Bluff. She was member of Covenant Christian Church. Mrs. Alford enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, and her favorite pastime was sitting on her front porch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyd Alford, daughter, Wanda Ray and parents, Luther and Leola Sewell.

She is survived by her children; Haskell Alford and wife Betty, Sharrell Alford and wife Debbie and Angela Herman, grandchildren, Dana Ray, David Alford, Christy Alred, Dustin Alford, Jessica Davenport, Nick and Abby Weir, Zack, Dakota and Dylan Herman. 9 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.

The family extends special thanks to Gentiva Hospice, friend and hairdresser, Sue Sewell.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Mrs. Alford will lie in state at the church Tuesday for one hour prior to service.
