Jackie Charles Biddle

Funeral service for Mr. Jackie Charles Biddle, 57, Rainbow City, will be 11 AM Monday-May 9, 2011 at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Bobby Joe Winningham will officiate with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.

Jackie was a devoted husband and father, as well as a loyal friend to many. He was a lifetime member of McEntyre Baptist Church. He was also an active participant in civic affairs, as well as an avid supporter of the community’s educational system. Jackie was a 1972 graduate of Southside High School and a 1976 graduate of the University of Alabama. He was a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. Jackie’s favorite aspects of life included spending time with his family and friends, playing golf, watching Alabama football, and bonding with his golden retriever “Bear”. He will be forever missed by the many hearts that he touched during his life. Jackie is preceded in death by his parents Calvin “Red” Biddle and Blanchie McEntyre Biddle.

Jackie is survived by his wife, Ruth Ann Biddle; daughter, Allison Lynn Biddle; son, Brant Jackson Biddle; uncle, Lacy (Nancy)McEntyre; cousins, Paula (Rick) Brewster, Blanchie (Mike) Campbell, Mark McEntyre, Lana McEntyre, Sharon McEntyre, and a host of many other cousins and friends including chosen sister, Babs Patterson.

Pallbearers will be Stanley Hawkins, Mark McEntyre, Mike Elliott, Chad Hall, Robert Brewster, Henry Jester, Tyler Stewart, and Kent Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Harvey Fail and Doug Turnipseed.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to McEntyre Baptist Church, 13988 Greensport Road Ashville, AL 35953 or Southside High School, 2361 School Drive, Southside, AL 35907.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Brian McGwire, Dr. Thomas Corley, Gadsden Regional Medical Center, and Riverview Regional Medical Center.

The family will accept friends on Sunday evening from 5 until 7 PM at the funeral home.
