

Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 3, 2012 at Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. James B. “Jim” Lovvorn, 62, Gadsden who passed away Saturday, June 30, 2012. Dr. Terry L. Greer and Dr. Craig Carlisle will officiate with burial at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home will direct.
Jim was born on October 24, 1949 in Sylacauga, AL to H.B. and Jimmie Lovvorn. He was a 1968 graduate of Gadsden High School and graduated from Jefferson State Community College. Jim was a member of Twelfth Street Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the Auxillary Service at St Vincent’s Hospital. He was a past member of the Kiwanis Club and the Rotary Club. Jim began his funeral service career at Collier-Butler Funeral Home under the direction of Robert “Bob” Collier which spanned 40 years. He was preceded in death by his parents, H. B. and Jimmie Lovvorn and mother-in-law, Dean White.
