
Funeral services for Mr. James D. “Jimmy” Morris, Jr., 63, of Gadsden, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 2, 2015, at Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Anthony Copeland will officiate with burial to follow at Crestwood Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services directing.
Jimmy passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2015
He was a graduate of Gadsden High School, class of 1971, and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church. Jimmy was a fan of Auburn and the Atlanta Braves, and was a collector of sports memorabilia.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his mother, Jean Morris.
He is survived by his father, James D. Morris, Sr.; sister, ReDonna (Mike) Nash; nephews, Daniel Nash and David Nash; aunts, EllaRee Sharpton, Joan Taylor, Lois Tyson and Evelyn Hinkle; uncle, Jack Morris; and numerous cousins.
Pallbearers will be Mike Nash, Daniel Nash, David Nash, Allen Hughes, Phil McClendon, and J.D. Nash.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jack Morris, Richard Sharpton, David Sharpton, Doug Taylor, Jay Hinkle, and members of Immanuel Baptist Church.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to UAB Hospital, Dr. Mark Hadley, Dr. Keneshia Kirksey, Dr. Xiaohua Zhou, and McGuffey’s Healthcare.
The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Collier-Butler Funeral Home.
