Funeral services will be Saturday, August 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. in the Collier-Butler Chapel for Mr. James M. Pickard Jr., 70, of Hokes Bluff, who passed away Wednesday, August 1, 2012. Revs. Tommy Ferguson and David Denson will officiate. Burial will be at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services is directing.
Mr. Pickard was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. He was a member of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church and had retired from Gulf States Steele after 35 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his wife; Maxine Pickard and his sister; Penny Dailey.
He is survived by his son; James “Jamey” (Christie) Pickard III, Grandchildren; Cody Naler, Mollie, Justin and Michaela Pickard, brother; Edward Pickard, Nieces; Sally Hall and Cindy Pickard, and nephew; Allen Pickard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the members and deacons of Goodyear Heights Baptist Church, neighbors of Sims Circle East, Hokes Bluff, Alacare Hospice, and A-Med Paramedics.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 9:30-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
