James "Jim" Calvin Stanley

James “Jim” Calvin Stanley, age 81, of Rainbow City, AL went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 18, 2023. A funeral service will be held at 2:00PM on Saturday, July 22, 2023, in the Collier-Butler Chapel. Rev. Chris Terrell will officiate. Burial will follow at Forrest Cemetery. Collier-Butler Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The family will accept friends from 1:00PM until the hour of the service at the funeral home on Saturday.

Mr. Stanley was a graduate of Emma Sansom High School. He was employed by Republic Steel/Gulf States Steel as a supervisor, and with Dawson Construction as a job superintendent. Jim was very hardworking. He loved to fish and watch NASCAR. Jim would do anything he could to help someone in need. He will be sorely missed.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ocie and Hazel Louise Stanley; and brothers, Jack (Glenda) Stanley and Jerry (Elaine) Stanley.

Jim is survived by his wife, Joyce R. Stanley; children, Kimberly (Joel) Cobb, Kevin Stanley, Amy (Phillip) Barron, Elaine (Terry) Gray, Eric (Rhonda) Thompson, Rick (Ruth-Ellen) Thompson, and Beth Parsons; brother, Jan (Jane) Stanley; sister, Judy Shoplock; and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Phillip Barron, Eric Thompson, Terry Gray, Jon Thompson, Joel Cobb, and Adam Steele.
