James Wilburn Tallent, age 83, of Rainbow City, Alabama passed away on Saturday March 28, 2020. The family will celebrate his life in a private family service on Monday, March 30 with burial to follow at Rainbow Memorial Garden. Bro.Gary Williams will officiate. Collier Butler Funeral Home will direct services.
Mr. Tallent was a lifelong resident of Etowah County. He was a veteran, having served in the US Army. He had retired from Gulf States Steel after many years of service as a pipefitter. After retirement he enjoyed operating Tallent Sawmill, gardening, and deer hunting.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, JoAnn Tallent; children Mike (Ginger) Tallent, Sheila (Mark) Hallmark, Jeanie (Ken) Morrow, Kim (Wendell) Oden, and Leslie (Reese) Hardin; grandchildren Trey Hardin,Trenton (Sarah) Tallent, Carson (Alec) Phillips, Adam Hallmark, Rachel Hallmark, Eli Morrow, Zoe Morrow, Randi (Zachaey) McCoy, Hunter (Molly) Bellew, Lindsay (Bruce) Walsh, and Natalie (Kevin) Humphrey; great grandchildren Mack Phillips; brothers Edward (Kathy) Tallent, Randall (Marie) Tallent; several nieces and nephews; and special friend Steve Moore.
He is preceded in death by his parents J.D. and Beatrice Tallent and brothers Bill and Jim Tallent.
Due to current CDC, state, and local guidelines there will be no public visitation.
