Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday at Rainbow Memorial Gardens for Mr. James Ernest Waddell, 84, of Rainbow City who passed away Friday, January 13, 2017. Eulogy will be given by his grandson, Jason Stearns. Collier-Butler Funeral and Cremation Services will direct.
Mr. Waddell spent four years in the Navy during the Korean War and worked for over forty years at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Adams Waddell, son, Dennis Jay Waddell, daughter, Janice Davidson, father, George Waddell, mother, Lizzie Mae Waddell, brother, Edward Waddell, sister-in-law, Elizabeth Hood Waddell, sister, Helen and Jack Mardis and brother-in-law, Alton Widner.
He is survived by his grandson, Jason and Tiffany Stearns, brothers, Billy and Sybil Waddell, Benny and Sharron Waddell, sisters, Sara and Berford Brown, Alevena Widner, Pat and Wayne White.Pallbearers will be family and friends.The family extends special thanks to the Nurses and Staff of Amedysis Hospice.Visitation will be Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
